DXai — release history

[v2.9.2] - 2026-07-22

  • Android wanted-alert parity: the Android beta can now refine wanted callsigns, DXCC entities and CQ zones by band, Phone/CW/Digital mode and All Spots or DXai Workable Only. The app also exposes and preserves the Wanted CQ Zones alert toggle.

  • Workable-only wanted alerts: every wanted callsign, DXCC entity, CQ zone, US state and Canadian province can independently alert on either every matching spot or only when DXai confirms that the spotted band and mode are workable from the member’s station.

[v2.7.7] - 2026-07-22

  • Live spots in the Android app: Android 0.4.0-beta.1 adds a native Dashboard and an All Spots browser with callsign wildcards, band and mode filters, wanted markers, bearings, qualitative DXai verdicts, expandable spot details, and full path checks for the selected station. Older spots load in bounded pages so incoming activity does not shift or duplicate the list.
  • Safer mobile sessions and offline data: expired app sessions return cleanly to sign-in, offline snapshots stay isolated to the account that loaded them, private session data is excluded from Android backup and restore, and newer station/DXai refreshes cannot be overwritten by older requests finishing late.

[v2.7.6] - 2026-07-22

  • Complete Help & Feature Guide: the Help page has been rebuilt around current DXping workflows, with sections for station locations, spots, wanted lists, every alert channel, the complete DXai toolset, logbook imports, awards, maps, satellites, Telegram commands, mobile apps and support.
  • Multiple station locations: add named home and remote stations to one account, choose the active station from the navigation bar, and let DXping recalculate bearings, maps, satellite passes, and DXai for that location. Each station can independently participate in lightning, DXai digest, band-opening, greyline, target, watchlist-workable, and satellite pass/digest alerts, and additional operating callsigns can be assigned to the station they belong to.
  • DXping mobile apps: the public homepage now previews the upcoming native Android and iOS apps. The Android beta is currently being tested with real-time alerts, DXai tools and maps, station switching, wanted lists, logbook access and a home-screen widget; iPhone and iPad support is planned next.
  • Android station switching: choosing another saved station in the Android beta now refreshes DXai conditions, maps, path checks, target openings, and the Profile grid for that location immediately. The corrected build is Android 0.3.0-beta.2.

[v2.7.3] - 2026-07-15

Added — DXai v1.11.0

  • Storm early warning: Band Conditions now watches the solar wind at the L1 monitor, 30–60 minutes upstream of Earth. When the interplanetary magnetic field swings strongly southward at speed — the trigger for geomagnetic storms — DXai tells you a storm is likely before the K index reacts: time enough to work the polar paths while they're still open.
  • Greyline alerts (opt-in, on the Alerts page): a heads-up about 30 minutes before sunrise and sunset at your QTH — the daily window when the terminator gives 160/80/40 m long-path DX its boost. Computed from your grid square; delivered on your usual channels; quiet hours respected.

Added — DXai v1.10.0

  • Solar context on Band Conditions: live solar and geomagnetic indices — solar flux, sunspot number, A and K indices, and X-ray flare status — now sit right above your band grades, with hover explanations and a plain-English read of what the space weather means for your bands ("Solar flux 185 with quiet geomagnetics — strong support for the high bands" / "Geomagnetic storm — polar paths degraded"). The measured grades stay the ground truth; this explains the weather behind them. Also included in the Telegram /bands command. Data: NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center, refreshed every 30 minutes — and archived alongside your band history, so DXai can learn how your bands actually respond to the solar cycle.

  • Daily DXai Digest: opt in on the DXai page and get a short morning band outlook for your QTH by email — which bands open, when, and how strong — written entirely from your own measured history. No forecasts, no invented openings; just what your grid actually does, in one of several rotating writing styles. Also delivered to Telegram, Discord or push if you've connected them.

    Added — DXai v1.8.0

  • 48-hour Live Reach timelapse: the Live Reach map can now play back the last two days hour by hour — press Play and watch your coverage field grow and fade as propagation changes, or drag the scrubber to any moment. The band filter works during playback, so you can watch a single band open and close across the day. Available on both the windowed map and the full-screen shack view.

    Added — DXai v1.7.0

  • Target Openings: pick a country and see when it has actually been reaching you — an hour-by-hour history of real arrivals over the last 48 hours, so you know when to be on the air for it.
  • Sked Finder: planning a contact with a specific station? Enter their callsign or grid and DXai grades the path between your two QTHs for every band and hour of the day, then names the best band and time.
  • Contest Planner: which continents each band delivers from your QTH, hour by hour — plan your band changes from measurements instead of folklore.
  • Antenna health monitoring: My Station now charts your measured per-band performance day by day, and DXai sends an alert if a band suddenly drops below your own normal — water in the coax shows up here before you'd notice it on the air.
  • Country-opening alerts: from the Best Band tool, ask DXai to alert you the moment a country you're chasing opens on your mode from your QTH.

    Added — DXai v1.6.0

  • Best Band: pick a mode and a target — a country or a whole continent — and DXai names the band with the best odds of working it right now, graded from live signal paths between there and your antenna, with a verdict for every band.

  • My Station — measured station factor: DXai now measures how your station actually performs compared to typical stations in your area, band by band, from your own transmissions — a hamstick and a big Yagi finally get different answers. Every DXai verdict (spot badges, alerts, the checker) is automatically adjusted to your station where a measurement exists.
    • See the new My Station card on the DXai page: your per-band standing (above/below typical), the measured numbers, and how your verdicts are being adjusted.
    • No setup needed — transmit FT8/FT4 and DXai measures overnight. Change your antenna and watch the numbers move; the Antenna Lab is the controlled version of that experiment.
    • Note: measurements reflect your transmit performance; your local receive noise still applies.

  • Trend arrows on Band Conditions (DXai v1.4.1): each band now shows ↗ when it has been strengthening over the last hour or ↘ when it's fading — so you know whether to run to the radio now or whether the opening has peaked.

  • VHF-aware grading: every band is now judged by its own propagation character. 6m is graded on its sporadic-E range, 2m and up on tropo distances, 160m on its shorter night skip — instead of applying 20m-style expectations everywhere. In practice: 6m and especially 2m now show real openings that were previously invisible, direction chips and confidence levels are scaled to each band's reach, and "busy" on 2m means busy for 2m.

Added — DXai v1.3.0

  • DXai Antenna Lab (Tools → DXai Antenna Lab, or from the DXai page): compare antennas or transmitters with real on-air data. Define labeled runs (e.g. Vertical / Dipole / Yagi), pick a run length and switch-over gap (auto-advance or wait-for-ready), optionally repeat the sequence to average out changing conditions — then transmit FT8/FT4 during each timed run while DXai listens.
    • Results as map layers: every station that heard each setup, one toggleable colored layer per antenna — flip layers to compare radiation patterns directly. Per-setup numbers too: reports, unique receivers, best/median signal, farthest reach, top directions.
    • Live view shows a big countdown, "SWITCH TO…" prompts between runs, and per-run heard-counts ticking up as you transmit.
    • The Lab listens only — it never keys your radio.

Added — DXai v1.2.0

  • Band-opening alerts: DXai now tells you the moment a band opens from your QTH for CW or SSB — with the best direction — on Telegram, Discord, email, or push. Opt in under Alerts → "DXai — band openings from my QTH"; your band filter and quiet hours apply.
  • Watchlist-workable alerts: DXai continuously checks the path from each of your wanted callsigns' locations to yours and alerts you when one becomes workable — they don't need to be on the air. Uses each call's band/mode preferences from your watchlist. Opt in under Alerts.
  • Live Reach map: a world map on the DXai page showing every station whose signals are reaching your area right now, colored by strength, with band filters — plus a pop-out full-screen view designed for a dedicated shack monitor (dark theme, auto-refreshing).
  • Typical Openings: DXai learns your QTH over time and shows when each band usually opens from your location, hour by hour in your local time — measured from real signals, not predictions. Appears after about a week of learning.

  • DXai Propagation Center (DXai v1.1.0) — a dedicated DXai page (new DXai link in the navbar) showing live, measured propagation from your station:
    • Band Conditions Now: every band graded for the last hour — open for SSB, open for CW, digital-only, or quiet — with the best directions from your QTH (N/NE/E/…) and live activity counts. Refreshes automatically.
    • Last 48 Hours: an hour-by-hour heatmap of band openings from your location, in your local time — see exactly when 17m opened yesterday and plan today around it.
    • Can I work…?: type any callsign and get the DXai verdict for your QTH, with a per-band breakdown.
    • Requires your grid square (Profile → Grid Square).

  • DXai propagation intelligence (DXai v1.0.0): every spot on the dashboard now carries a DXai verdict — a live prediction of whether you can work that station from your QTH, on the mode it's operating. DXai continuously analyzes live on-air signal activity around the world and measures the real radio path between the spotted station and your location, as conditions change minute by minute.
    • Verdicts match the spot's mode: GOOD (strong path with headroom), OK (workable), WEAK (marginal — might squeak through), POOR (unlikely), or — (no data yet). An FT8 spot with a very strong path reads GOOD; an SSB spot over a marginal path reads POOR.
    • Works for CW and SSB operators too: the station doesn't need to be transmitting a digital mode — DXai can read the path itself and estimate your odds (estimated verdicts show a dashed outline).
    • On the dashboard: a DXai column in Recent Spots and a DXai line on each watchlist card with a plain-English verdict ("Good odds on FT8", "Unlikely on SSB").
    • In your alerts: wanted-call alerts on Telegram, Discord, email, and push now include the DXai verdict — know whether to run to the radio before you get up.
    • Requires a grid square on your profile (Profile → Grid Square).
