Privacy Policy

This policy explains how ISP Ventures LLC, operating DXping, handles information through the DXping.com website and the DXping Android application (com.dxping.app). In this policy, “DXping,” “we,” and “us” refer to ISP Ventures LLC.

In plain language: DXping uses account and amateur-radio data to provide spots, awards tracking, propagation tools, wanted-list matching, and alerts. We do not sell personal information. The Android app does not request GPS, contacts, camera, microphone, or phone access.

1. Information we collect

Account and profile information

Callsign or username, email address, password hash, email-verification state, and account dates.
Name and optional city, state/province, named station grid squares, and additional station callsigns.
Referral relationships when a registration uses another member’s referral link or callsign.

Amateur-radio and service data

Logbook contacts you import or submit, including callsigns, dates, bands, modes, exchanges, confirmation information, and award-related entity data.
Wanted callsigns, DXCC entities, states/regions, POTA preferences, alert filters, quiet hours, antenna-test sessions, and other settings you choose.
Feedback, bug reports, feature requests, and support correspondence.
Publicly available or received on-air activity and spot information associated with amateur-radio callsigns.

Website and technical information

Session cookies and security tokens needed to keep you signed in and protect forms.
IP address, browser/device information, request times, and diagnostic logs generated by our web server.
Website usage information collected through Google Analytics, such as pages viewed, approximate region, device/browser category, and interaction events.

Android application information

An encrypted DXping sign-in token stored on your device.
A Firebase installation/notification identifier, device platform and model, registration date, and last-seen date so we can deliver and manage push notifications.
The app requests internet access and, on supported Android versions, permission to display notifications.

The Android app does not request the device’s GPS location. DXai uses the station grid squares that you enter in your DXping profile.

2. How we use information

Operate accounts, authenticate users, secure the service, and provide support.
Display spots, maps, logbooks, award progress, wanted lists, and station-personalized DXai results.
Send alerts and messages through the channels you enable.
Maintain connected phones and deliver native Android notifications.
Diagnose outages, prevent abuse, measure performance, and improve features.
Comply with legal obligations and protect DXping, its users, and others.

3. When information is shared

We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising. Information may be processed by the following providers when needed to operate a feature:

Google Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers Android push notifications.
Google Analytics measures website usage.
Telegram and Discord receive account identifiers and alert content when you connect and enable those channels.
Email and hosting providers process account, verification, support, and alert emails and host the service.
QRZ may process callsign lookups or logbook imports when those features are configured or requested. An optional QRZ API key can be stored in your profile.
Club Log supplies DXCC entity reference data. DXping does not upload your personal logbook to Club Log through this reference-data integration.
NOAA and weather-data providers supply environmental data used by DXai and map overlays.
PayPal processes donations when you follow the donation link; its service is separate from DXping.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to investigate abuse or security incidents, or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of the service, subject to appropriate protections.

4. Cookies, local storage, and analytics

DXping uses essential cookies for authentication and security. The website may use browser local storage for preferences such as themes and map layers, and a service worker for application assets. Google Analytics uses cookies or similar identifiers to measure website activity. You can limit nonessential analytics through browser privacy controls or content-blocking tools, although blocking essential storage may prevent sign-in or other features from working.

5. Retention

Account, profile, logbook, award, wanted-list, and preference data are generally retained while your account remains active. Alert history, diagnostic logs, cached lookups, device registrations, and operational activity data are retained for periods appropriate to security and service operation. Removing a phone deletes its active notification registration. Signing out of the Android app asks the server to unregister that phone.

Backups and security records may persist for a limited period after deletion. We may retain narrowly limited records when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

6. Account and data deletion

You may request deletion of your DXping website and Android app account and associated personal data at any time. Email wb3isp@dxping.com from the address registered to your account with the subject DXping account deletion request and include your callsign or username. We may ask you to verify control of the account before deletion.

You can remove an individual Android device immediately from Your Profile under Connected phones. Account deletion is broader and removes the account and associated profile, mobile registrations, preferences, wanted lists, and personal logbook data, except for limited information we must retain for the reasons described above.

7. Security

DXping uses HTTPS, password hashing, access controls, CSRF protection, scoped API credentials, and other technical and organizational safeguards. Android session credentials are encrypted using the Android Keystore. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please use a unique password and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

8. Your choices and rights

You can update profile information, station location, integrations, alert preferences, wanted lists, and connected phones through DXping. You may also contact us to request access, correction, export, restriction, objection, or deletion where those rights apply under local law.

9. Children

DXping is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it.

10. International use

DXping is operated from the United States. If you use it from another country, information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as DXping changes. We will post the revised policy here and update the date above. Material changes may also be announced through the website, app, or account email.
